Our openwater swimmer Emese dr Varga (Budapest) succesfully finished the longest swim competition in her life. She raced a 10k meters distance in the Oceanman Cattolica World Championship Etape. Competition took place at Cattolica Emilia Romagna, Italy.
Long distance open water Swimming can be challenging for any swimmer, no matter if you’re masters, pro or a beginner. It is easy to get burned out before you meet your goals when going the distance. Once you hit a plateau, it can be tough to dig deep physically and mentally to keep pushing yourself. Also long waves and strong winds can make a big problems especially in pre-season or at the end of it. Emese experienced big difficulties because of strong waves but she finished it strong. Congratulations Emese!
